About Me

I’m Jamison O’Malley, a 23-year-old photographer, videographer, and digital content creator based in Newcastle, NSW. My work is grounded in storytelling — capturing the raw emotion, intensity, and passion that live within sport and everyday moments.

I’ve spent the past few years photographing some of Australia’s most dynamic sporting environments, including the Newcastle Northstars, Northern NSW Football, and the Women’s State of Origin. My photography focuses on more than just the action — it’s about the grit, energy, and unspoken stories that happen between plays. Every frame is a reflection of what it feels like to be there: the anticipation, the motion, and the fleeting moments that define an athlete’s journey.

Beyond the Field

Outside of sport, I also create event and branding content for local businesses, professionals, and artists. I enjoy helping people and brands translate their identity into powerful visuals — whether that’s a campaign shoot, live event, or a creative collaboration.

My goal is simple: to deliver images that preserve the moment and tell a clear, authentic story. Every project, no matter the scale, is approached with the same level of focus and attention to detail.

Artistic Philosophy

Photography, for me, is more than documentation — it’s connection. It’s about freezing time in a way that lets others feel what it was like to stand where I stood. I believe the strongest images come from genuine observation, patience, and understanding your subject — whether that’s a professional athlete mid-game or a small business owner chasing their next milestone.

I strive to balance clean composition with atmosphere — blending the precision of professional sports photography with the emotion of storytelling. My camera is not just a tool, but a way of sharing the pulse of Newcastle’s creative and sporting community.

Looking Ahead

As I continue to grow my body of work, my goal is to expand into larger national sports and commercial coverage while staying rooted in Newcastle’s creative identity. I’m always open to collaborations and new opportunities to tell stories through my lens.
